What Does Sapphic Mean?
The Sapphic identity has existed for centuries, but in gay years, it’s started to thrive since 2010. As the LGBTQ+ community has evolved and our expression of identity has moved forwards, Sapphic has become a chosen identity for many women, nonbinary, trans and gender nonconforming folks.

Sapphic is an umbrella term that expresses the sexuality and romantic attraction of queer women, non binary, and trans people that have sexual and romantic attraction to each other.
Put more simply it’s the ABCD - Anything But Cis Dudes - of LGBTQ+
Why is “Sapphic“ getting popular?
It’s Inclusive: People familiar with "sapphic" often see it as encompassing a wide range of identities within the LGBTQIA+ community, not limited to lesbian women but including bisexual, pansexual, non-binary, and trans individuals who have a connection to womanhood and femininity.
Scope: The term is commonly understood to describe romantic and sexual attraction between women or feminine-aligned individuals, highlighting the specific experiences and relationships.
Cultural and Community Connection: Beyond attraction, "sapphic" is also seen as a cultural identifier, representing a shared experience and solidarity among those who identify with the term.
